About
what we believe
Rooted in God’s Word, Growing in Faith
We believe that the Bible, consisting of the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. It was written by holy men of God under the guidance of the Holy Spirit and remains eternally relevant. The Scriptures reveal God’s character, His plan of redemption through Jesus Christ, and His instructions for living a holy life. The Bible is the final authority in all matters of doctrine, morality, and conduct; it is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path, guiding us in truth and equipping us for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:15–17; 2 Peter 1:20–21; Psalm 119:105)
We believe in one God, the Creator of all things, eternally existing as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ, the Son, is fully God and fully man—conceived by the Holy Spirit, crucified, buried, risen, and now seated at the right hand of the Father as our intercessor. (John 1:14–18; 1 Corinthians 2:9–10)
We believe in water baptism by immersion, following personal faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Baptism is not a means of salvation, but an act of obedience that publicly testifies of an inward transformation. It symbolizes the believer’s union with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection: dying to sin, being buried with Christ, and rising to walk in newness of life. Baptism also signifies membership in the body of Christ and a commitment to follow Him wholeheartedly. Every believer is called to obey this command as an expression of faith and devotion to the Lord. (Matthew 3:16; Matthew 28:19–20; Romans 6:3–5)
We believe that the Holy Spirit endows every believer with spiritual gifts, which are divine empowerments for the building up of the Body of Christ and the fulfillment of God’s mission on earth. These gifts include, but are not limited to, wisdom, knowledge, faith, healing, miracles, prophecy, discernment of spirits, tongues, and interpretation of tongues. They are given not for personal glory but for the edification of the Church, the advancement of the Gospel, and the demonstration of God’s power in the world. Believers are called to earnestly desire and faithfully exercise these gifts under the guidance of the Holy Spirit and in harmony with Scripture, always in the spirit of love and humility. (1 Corinthians 12:1–11; Romans 12:4–8; 1 Peter 4:10–11)
We believe in the ordinance of the Lord’s Supper (Holy Communion), instituted by Jesus Christ as a perpetual reminder of His sacrificial death and victorious resurrection. In partaking of the bread and the cup, we remember His body that was broken for us and His blood that was shed for the forgiveness of our sins. The Lord’s Supper is a sacred time of fellowship with Christ and His Church, a proclamation of His death until He comes again, and a renewal of our commitment to live in holiness and unity. It also anticipates the Marriage Supper of the Lamb, when Christ will return for His bride, the Church. (Luke 22:19–20; 1 Corinthians 10:16–17; 1 Corinthians 11:23–26)
We believe in the literal, bodily resurrection of the dead and the blessed hope of the soon return of Jesus Christ. His coming will occur in two phases: The Rapture of the Church – when the dead in Christ will rise first, and believers who are alive will be caught up together with them to meet the Lord in the air. The Second Coming of Christ – when He will return with His saints to establish His millennial reign on earth, a reign of righteousness, peace, and justice. At the final judgment, the righteous will inherit eternal life in the presence of God, while the unrighteous will face eternal separation from Him. We hold fast to the promise of a new heaven and new earth where God will dwell with His people forever. (1 Thessalonians 4:16–17; Revelation 20:2–6; Revelation 21:1–4)
We believe that speaking in tongues is a supernatural gift of the Holy Spirit and one of the initial signs of the baptism in the Holy Spirit. Tongues serve multiple purposes: they provide a powerful means of personal prayer and worship, build up and strengthen the believer spiritually, and, when interpreted, serve to edify the Church collectively. This gift is not limited to the early Church but is available to all believers today who seek the fullness of the Spirit. We affirm that tongues, along with all spiritual gifts, should be practiced decently, in order, and in submission to the Word of God and the Spirit’s leading. (Acts 2:4; Acts 10:44–46; 1 Corinthians 14:2–4, 27–28)
